Armand Marquiset was asked: "did we give flowers before the bread"?
Come to think of it, I always thought he understood everything. Our elders, those who gave birth to us, who very often gave us their kindness, made us grow without ever giving up even in difficulties, our elders who for some experienced privations, did advancing society for all of us, too often find themselves alone. I do not see any difference with the abandonment of animals at the approach of summer, sad observation of an amnesiac humanity. I have worked with many elderly people, I don't like to say elderly, but that's how it is. I was able to give time, to hug sad and tired hearts, I shared the flowers before the bread, but I encountered wisdom, the pleasure of receiving smiles, deep looks and listening to such an incredible life course. Being myself from DASS, I knew very well what rejection and abandonment can do as damage, even after building my life, I have always missed the essentials, parents, grandparents, so with the little brothers we give our time, our good humor, but we receive so much from our elders. So yes, the little brothers of the poor are made up of a battalion of volunteer angels who do the best they can but always with their hearts.
