Itinerary: 1 night stay (booked on a deal), with add ons of 3 course dinner package, breakfast buffet package. 100 Fountain Spa, couple s deep tissue massage.

Celebrating an anniversary, we were gifted chocolates at check in and a rose was delivered to our door. Staff were excellent and accommodating, the service was friendly, welcoming, and you can tell that everyone cares. Our room was the 1 King Bed suite. It was clean and located at the back of the Inn.

Amenities: the Inn has an indoor pool and hot tub, as well as 100 Fountain Spa has outdoor hot springs (a hot tub)

3 Course Dinner at the Cannery: excellent and attentive service. Our server was Danielle, I don t usually remember servers names, but she was amazing. I ordered the mussels for my app, I was expecting a small portion, but it was a great portion of mussels in a white cream sauce. My main was the Prime Rib med rare, it comes with a baked potato undressed, and a few sprigs of asparagus. Danielle our server, came to dress the potato with your choice of sour cream, bacon, or green onions, and offer horseradish for the Prime Rib. My partner got the tiger prawns, which came with 4 jumbo prawns and cocktail sauce. The Lamb shank was tender, fell off the bone, and very moist. I was very happy to be full (I am a BIG eater). We sat and sipped wine and then ordered the banana fritters for dessert, the banana fritters were Timbit sized, they tasted like banana pancakes deep fried. They were served with a chocolate peanut sauce and a coconut sauce. I was full so I took it to go. My partner was full and ordered a cappuccino, he wasn t really happy with the cappuccino unfortunately. The restaurant was decorated nicely, old and rustic but I loved the Christmas decor. Make sure you request a seat by one of their fireplaces!

Breakfast Buffet: mini croissants with fillings (chocolate, apple, blueberry, cheese, etc.), yogurt, breads, bagels, cereal, small selection of fruit and granola bars, create your own omelette bar and waffles, hot buffet: scrambled eggs, bacon, baked tomatoes with cheese on them, French toast, and home fried potatoes. Coffee and juice included. Service was okay. Buffet was okay, suitable options, nothing crazy or spectacular, however I wonder what their Sunday Brunch Buffet is like.

They had muskoka chairs set up outside around some fire features which was cute.

Across the street they re building a park for May 2020, used for weddings and leisure. Stay at the Pillar and Post when the weather is better.

If you re going in the winter Fort George is nearby and they have ice skating. No rentals on weekdays. If I had known I would ve brought my skates! You can also walk the Fort George grounds or go to the Queen s Parade Park.

On the other side of the highway is the outlets, so you can shop before you go home.

The inn offers activities for kids and adults, look online for the full schedule.

The Main Street is very cute and located close by, there appeared to be restaurants, coffee shops, an ice cream shop, a grocery store, and clothing stores. Also located close to the Shaw Theatre and many wineries.
