I dealt with the General Manager of the store when I purchased a pair of Newtons. The $175 shoe was different than most running shoes in that the sole has articulated lugs to help guide you onto the sweet spot on the ball of the foot, instead of landing heel first. When the manager sensed my hesitation, she said if I didn't like them, I could return them within seven days, with receipt and box, for an exchange. The Newtons were not for me, so I bought a $120 Brooks shoe and was given a gift certificate as the remainder of the credit instead of the cash as preferred. I felt this policy wasn't made clear at the time of purchase, but the manager held steadfast.

I was also disappointed with the knowledge of the young staff. Two of the employees (one in training) told me I pronated, which I've never been told, and limits one to style choices. I actually bought shoes on my second visit from the general manager who told me I don't pronate when I asked. Be aware.
