I had my 1997 E320 brought in for service. It was a stalling engine problem and tough to isolate as there were no codes providing a clue. The MB Technician did a great job bench testing a suspected component and was able to solve the issue. Service also conducted a safety inspection and pointed out some issues. With the NJ Inspection process being just for emissions don't overlook the importance of checking brake lines. I am thankful MB pointed out the need to have them repaired on my car.

By the way we often complain about how expensive parts are to but from the Dealer. I encourage you to check and compare cost. It has been my experience that the cost of parts from the MB Dealer are very competitively priced.
