Review of West Ashley Crab Shack

Have been wanting to go to a really good crab shac...

Have been wanting to go to a really good crab shack in a while, so today turned out to be the day! Went to the aquarium in Charelston and then drove to West Ashley for lunch. We got here around 1:10pm and were out within an hour. The atmosphere of the dining room was quiet, low key and very welcoming. The hostess was quite young and wasn't very sociable but the waitress that served us was very up-beat. We ordered the she-crab soup and the crab dip for an appetizer. They were both so amazing, I forced my boyfriend to stop eating them so we could take them home for a snack later on. I know, I'm weird..but that soup was absolutely amazing. For the actual meal, my boyfriend and I split the crab cluster and 2/3 lbs shrimp basket. We both devoured the shrimp and crab legs within a short period of time. The spices they put on both the shrimp and the crab was a little spicy, but had just the right kick to it. Loved it...Cant believe we were in and out within an hour.. on a Sunday. This place has got to be hidden.. with as good as their food was, I would have expected more of a crowd!! Kiddos to the chef who made the soup I really want that recipe!!
