This is supposed to be a 5 star hotel...
Hmm... Who ever gave this hotel a 5 star rating, never experienced a true 5 star service.
We stayed in 5 star hotels all over EU and this one is as far from 5 star as earth is from Jupiter.
Lets see. They lie, flat out. We were told breakfast is 21 euros, it is actually 29.50. All room should be air conditioned. AC never worked in our room. When called reception, they asked us if we really need air conditioner in the room. Well, weather being 97 degree with 78% humidity...HECK YEAH WE NEED AC in the room. They gave us different room where AC was barely working. Temperature would not drip below 80 degrees in the room. So, we complained more. And this is when they got very unfriendly. Started making jokes about us being too picky. But, gave us third room. AC was working so we settled.
Next Bathrooms. The whole bathroom is big, good size. But shower room is so small that we had to get out of it, turn around and come back in in order to wash another side of the body. Horrible, just horrible. Everything in the room they charge for. A small bottle of water is 4 euros. And they tell you that AFTER the fact.
Restaurant. Extremely overpriced. Also, when go for breakfast, they insist to charge it to the room. We figured out why quickly. So, it was three of us. And one morning only two had breakfast. SO, I asked for the bill and lady goes - oh we will just charge it to the room. I insisted on getting a bill. And sure enough on the bill there is a charge for 3 breakfast meals. After calling a manager, they adjusted it but, if we did not pay attention, they would just stick it to us. Extra 29.50 euros.
And this kind of service we received all over hotel. In every area.
The only time manager became really friendly and actually apologized is when I threaten to cal my credit card and file a complain. Right after that, in a matter of minutes we received a tray with fresh fruits, a bottle of champagne and apology letter. How nice and thoughtful.
And there were few small things as well but, I do not want to mention it here.
I would NEVER stay at any Fairmont hotel anywhere in the world again.
