John Martin Review of LifeCenter Plus

All in all, I'm pretty disappointed in this gym. For what you pay, you expect more. Life Center is almost 3-5 times more than other, newer gyms in the area. For starters, the elliptical machines in their environmentally controlled room have had problems for more than a year. Either the TV's don't work, the sound doesn't work, or the mechanics of the machine themselves aren't smooth. This isn't new. This has been a problem for a year. Pads on equipment that has ripped aren't replaced in a timely manner. (How hard is it to order a new pad and attach it to a leg raise / dip station?) Newer equipment, like kettle balls, remain locked, only for use with a personal trainer. And you've got to hope that the hot tub works or isn't cold. Then in the men's locker room, the hamper is broken. Really? You can't afford $5 at Big Lots to buy a new hamper?
Then the really rich part, if you want to bring your kid, they're going to charge you even more. We pay $100 a month to be a member at this gym, but I get better equipment at Fitness 19 or Fitworks for $10 a month. Sure the sauna and hot tub are nice (when they're on or working), but is it really worth an extra $90 a month?
