OFCP has called me before, but I think I may not have listened to the appeal. This time I did and I am glad. They were looking for clothing donations (though apparently they will accept a lot of other things, toys and household items if they can be lifted by one person). They do pick up. I agreed, reluctantly, but it was a good opportunity to get rid of clothes that no longer fit me but were of a quality that made me hang on to them. Glad to have had that nudge that got me to clear some unneeded things out, free up space, and help a worthy cause. For years now no one has been willing to pick up donations. First they put up big boxes as donation sites, for me a drive or cab ride. Then those disappeared and even profiteers like Goodwill wanted you to deliver to them. A lot of things ended up on the street or in the garbage as a result. OFCP called me with a reminder. Since I live on a busy street with no parking and pickup day was also garbage day here, they also agreed to call me as the truck was approaching so I could meet him at the curb. Very happy about my experience. I will donate to this organization whenever I can. Turns out my donations help ME as well. :)
