I waited until getting my deposit back to review--...

I waited until getting my deposit back to review-- but I'm not disappointed! When my husband and I moved to Bozeman and the apartment we'd lined up fell through, it was a nightmare trying to be approved by any property management company. We were burning money on hotels while Peak Property, Rental Professionals, and others took their sweet time processing our applications. When we found Management Associates (after two weeks of getting nowhere with others), they had our applications processed the SAME day, and got us into an apartment within five days-- it felt like a miracle. However, we got nervous when it came time to move out. We were going to have to break lease, and with all of the awful reviews, we figured they were going to totally gouge us with fees and end up taking most, if not all, of our double security deposit (over $3,000). We paid the $200 transfer fee when we moved-- which was stated in our lease-- and waited, hoping we'd see a check. Not only were they very transparent about the amounts taken from our deposits (receipt copies and all), the costs were completely reasonable. We got most of our deposit back, and the things that were taken out were already expected (a few burned light bulbs, new burner trays for the stove, and some cleaning that I didn't finish). Obviously, we worked hard to take care of the apartment and cleaned it well when we left, but the amounts taken from our deposit were very fair and I'm pretty shocked by all of the negative reviews now. Management Associates was totally reasonable and helpful from start to finish.
