Houten profiles itself as a cycling city, they don't find other road users interesting. Pedestrians in particular have bad luck, I only know 1 pedestrian crossing and sidewalks are not present or in very bad condition. In any case, the traffic policy at the municipality seems to be run by people who don't seem to know anything. The parking policy is also really a drama in the 3 centers.
