I would not recommend supporting this hotel, or what they call a "resort", based on the fact that they have poor management and do not treat their employees with respect. My close friend is a part of their kitchen staff, working the banquets and cafeteria. Employees are expected to work 12+ hour days and when they do not, they are penalized. Overtime is mandatory and not optional, even for those who have families and children to care for. The kitchen managers do not have any common courtesy for their employees and treats them as though their time is invaluable. If an employee does not stay past their 8 hours they are threatened with a write up. Most are too scared to stand up to management because they are known for retaliation, whether it's through their schedules or making them do tedious work. There is also evident discrimination and favoritism. When concerns have been brought to their HR department, nothing has been done. Their HR manager acts with a lack of professionalism or knowledge of basic HR procedures and practices. As it has been reported, the HR manager visited to the kitchen on Valentine's Day and was handing out favors to the employees. When she asked the employees to show these favors in a photo, the kitchen manager commented "Show us your breasts. We all want to see them." The HR manager proceeded to laugh and leave the situation. This is sexual harassment and if she was competent in her position she would have reported this immediately. If HR does not even enforce the rules, then who will? These issues were brought to the attention of HR, the General Manager, and kitchen Manager. It has also been submitted to the BBB. This "resort" is an embarrassment and I discourage locals and visitors from supporting them in any way, shape, or form.
