In reading the reviews from kids that were sent here, I must opine that they have NO IDEA how hard it is to be a parent and be at your wit's end in keeping your child safe from themselves. Our son attended Second Nature 5 years ago. He thanks us every chance he gets. He got "gooned" so he wouldn't run away. The time in the woods was the first time in a few years he could sit back in a sober way and assess his life. He did that. He left wilderness and spent 13 months in long-term treatment. Again, he thanks us frequently. Before the drugs he had big dreams and today he is pursuing those dreams, going to college and pursuing an aeronautical degree. He lives in gratitude every day. That said, I don't think he will truly realize the pain and sadness and fear we as parents felt until he becomes a parent himself. I hope he never has to go to his child's room and wonder if his son is dead or alive. I don't live in that fear anymore...but I will never forget what that felt like. I am on my knees grateful for Second Nature, the first step to our son's recovery.
