I wanted a good steak and I understood the Metropolitan Grill was a place to go. With no reservations, I showed up at 6:00 on a Saturday evening. The hostess advised the restaurant was full but I could sit in the bar for dinner. That was no issue for me. I sat down and within a few minutes had a drink and was brought some nice warm sourdough bread. The waitress asked if I wanted to place an order and I advised that I was not in a hurry. I wanted to enjoy my drink and the awesome atmosphere. At 6:30 I placed my order. At 7:15 I asked the waitress to check on my order. She came back and advised that my ticket was the very next one in line. At 7:30, still waiting, a waitress delivered a full meal to a couple next to me that showed up 15 minutes after I sat down. When I saw that, I notified another waitress, not my original one, that I would pay for my drink and was leaving. She was apologetic and offered to check on my meal but I told her at that point I probably wouldn't enjoy the meal. I left without getting my Metropolitan Grill steak! I went back to my hotel and had dinner in the bar. It was a wonderful hand made burger and crunchy fries. That softened the blow somewhat of my disappointment at the "grill".
