Took in a Jeep Patriot for a transmission concern as my powertrain warranty is nearing expiration. I was told there would be a $103 diagnostic fee (I've checked with other dealers and they are considerably less and don't charge when the concern is part of a warranty). Service writer Thomas Clark called and said the problem was bearings in alternator and repair is over $500. I had asked for a transmission issue to be checked not an alternator concern. They obviously lack the skill to diagnose more than one issue. If they are going to charge an exorbitant fee I would expect them to check the car out thoroughly especially my area of concern. They just want to "part stab" the vehicle. I would keep on driving if you are considering servicing a vehicle at Superstition Springs.
