I was told by the CEO and Director of Social Services that as a legal guardian parent I had a legal right to discharge my minor daughter whom I had consented to her treatment. I expressed my concern of not getting any health status or treatment plan for my daughter for 4 days. After completion of her 72hr hold, I was told by the CEO and Director of social services that i could come pick her up. When I arrived they engaged in conversation with my former spouse who was filing for custody and all of a sudden discharge was against doctors orders. I wanted to get my daughter into Children's Hospital in which even the Director of Social Services initialized my intent on discharge paper work.
