Walking through the beautiful and colorful streets of the center of Modena, you arrive, almost suddenly and unexpectedly, in front of the bulk of the ducal palace. The visual impact is surprising, and can only surprise the visitor. Ancient home of the Este family, among the most beautiful that have left their history, it is now the seat of the prestigious Military Academy. The only regret is that it cannot be easily visited inside. Obviously, reconciling the current function of this home, with the desire of visitors, is not an easy thing, but such beauty should be able to be the heritage of all of us. Modena deserves it and we lovers of our history deserve it.
