The zoo is a great place to visit most days just be prepared during the summer with sun block and water. They seem to take pretty good care of all the exhibits and theres some really interesting information if you stop and read the signs. Also the staff is pretty friendly for the most part. Good place to have a day outing. I will say the parking is a bit chaotic but most zoo parking lots arent the best so just be prepared to do a few laps.
