Worst experience at a restaurant ever. Sadly, this is not an overstatement. We did not have a reservation (Sat 6/14/14) but were told seating was available right away in the bar/cocktail area. So we saw a table that needed to be bused but sat down. I asked someone to clear it and she said a bus boy would be by. Then our waitress stopped by and said there was a clean table over there (the corner) or we could just wait for the bus boy. We waited, big mistake. She came back again and cleared the table, visibly irratated that we did not want to move to the corner. Never introducted herself or greeted us and just asked if we knew what we wanted to drink. No menus yet. She came back with our drinks, by vodka cranberry had no ice-strange, but did not bring the requested waters, we placed our orders. After 10 minutes and no one in sight, I went to the bar and got two waters for my husband and me. While I was gone, the waitress did come by and my husband asked about some bread-they were out but making more and she would bring it out when ready. 10 more minutes, no bread. Two other waitresses walk by with bread and give to the tables around us. Our waitress is MIA. Then our food arrives an we asked the runner for bread and he brings it right out. No one comes to check on our dinner or the temp of my husbands steak or take additional drink orders. The waitress walks by us several times and does not check in before she goes missing again.
The presentation of the food was not great. The plates were way too big making the food look tiny. My crabcakes were great and my husbands steak, although cooked M instead of MR, was fine and the stuffed shrimp were good.
I went to the hostess stand and asked if our waitress had another sections in a different part of the restaurant since we hadn't seen her for a while and were now looking for our check. I let them know she had not even checked in on our meal. She came over with the bill right after that and said she was also running room service (strange), but no real appology was offered and she still didn't ask how our meal was. No manager came over to check on us.
Unfortunately, what was supposed to be a nice birthday dinner put a huge black cloud over the whole weekend getaway. It was dissapointing since the McCormick & Schmick's in Philadelphia is so nice, we thougth this one would be also and it was on the water so offered a nice view. Next time we will hit up one of the restaurants in Fells Point instead.
Also the bathrooms were rather messy.
