I have generally been pleased when I stay at Hilton hotels however this one puts the Hilton brand and name to shame! This hotel hosted my family reunion this past weekend, which included almost 80 people, and we also used the hotel's catering services...so we brought a lot of business to this hotel this weekend. Our check-in process was fine. After that, we decided to go out to eat, only to come back around 10 pm to find that the power was out in the hotel. People were stuck in the elevators, there wasn't any AC, etc. Mind you, we had elderly family members in our party...how dangerous! The staff also did not provide people with flashlights. They should've been more prepared because, apparently, this happened two weeks ago. My family decided to make the best of the situation and gather outside in front of the hotel only to be told that we couldn't be where we were. We were then moved to the fire pit but then were told that we were too loud so we were moved again to the conference room. We moved 2 times to be more convenient to the staff and guest, which was fine. But when we're in the conference room (sound-proof and away from guest rooms) and the same night manager (Nancy) keeps coming in with other staff members to tell us we're being too loud (even though when you step outside of the conference room, you can't hear a thing), it becomes harassment at that point. This all happened on Friday night. Power was restored sometime between 2 am and 7 am. Saturday morning, it is like pulling teeth to get the front desk to do something about how all of the guests were inconvenienced Friday night but they FINALLY gave out free breakfast buffet vouchers (and I don't think they gave this to every guest which is also wrong). Fast forward to Saturday night, again Nancy moves us (and another group of guests) to two different locations but not before threatening us and the other group with a phone call to the police if we did not move from outside. The problem with that is that we weren't trying to stay out there...we were trying to leave but she wouldn't tell us where we could go at first. We suggest going to the conference room again and she agrees to let us use it. Sunday morning arrives and the front desk is refusing to give breakfast vouchers or take any discounts off of the room for everyone's inconvenience. A lot of the staff members were extremely rude, with one staff member (Carlos) telling one of my family members "Since you're getting breakfast for free (Saturday morning), you need to tip your waitress!" Beyond rude and disgusting! I have called the corporate office (as I was told to do by Christine/a manager) and they stated that it is the hotel's responsibility to remedy the issue instead of trying to pawn it off on the corporate office however the hotel managers did everything they could to avoid doing so. Also, the wifi was down most of the time (even when the power was back on) and when it did work, it was very spotty/not consistent throughout the hotel. I will NEVER stay at this hotel again!
