This was everything I had heard and hoped it would be. We were told we just had to go to this iconic restaurant so I made reservations a couple of weeks before our trip and still could only get a lunch time seating. This actually turned out well because we prefer to have the big meal early in the day and following it with a stroll through the garden district viewing the historic houses during the late afternoon is ideal. Before our much anticipated date, I watched all of the shows on Netflix that featured Commander s Palace. This research paid off, giving me a great guide for ordering spectacular drinks and entrees. Try the last word and this is a perfect place to have a sazerac. The Grillades were recommended and did not disappoint. I ve not had a dish quite like this before. The Duck was also unique and outstanding. You absolutely must have the bread pudding for dessert. The whole thing came together in such a wonderful and pleasing way. Lunch here is a perfect prelude to stroll, then a nap, then you re all rested and ready for a big night out in the big easy. perfect!
