The details testify to the slow decay that seems to have affected the Grand Hotel Terminus: a rough painting, a splendid badly repaired inlay or an antique parquet roughly covered with carpet. There is a strong scent of a wasted opportunity only partially mitigated by an excellent breakfast, a decidedly above average service and above all the fascinating story of the last night spent here by Roald Amudsen.
