My husband and I needed to move because he was relocating to another position in the government. Therefore, it was a government paid move. We only had two realtor options. One being Mendy at ERA. She was great in the beginning. The problem I have is with the company overall. Mendy's co-worker new about our house and the low-ball price we were going to put it on the market for. This co-worker asked if her clients could see it three days before it went on the market. They looked at it and made an offer. The kicker was that realtor was a family member of the buyers. Things went sooth in the beginning. The well was checked and was underproducing. We were told that the buyers wanted a new well (on top of all the other things they wanted outlined in the contract). We obliged because we are kind people and took pride in the home. Not to mention we had a contract for a new home and needed that to go through in a timely manner. Our backs were against a wall. Also, we were not advised by Mendy of other options. Then began a constant flow of more work to be done on the home. The buyers even asked a week before closing, and three days after the new well was drilled, to have the lawn landscaped. Really? Why would their realtor advise them to do that. It would push the moving date? It was torture. It was the most painful experience in our life. Yes, they can ask and all we have to say is "no". I understand. But at what point is too much? What point does it go beyond and becomes unprofessional to advise your clients to keep asking? Oh, that's right it was family. Oh, that's right our realtor works in the same office as their realtor. I believe nepotism was going on. I believe that the buyers knew about our situation and were advised to take full advantage. Our realtor did not advise us, did not bring other options to the table which is what we hired her to do. Us, the sellers best interest was not sought after. Instead, the family members of the other realtor walked away with all they could get from us. So unprofessional.
