I gave this facility a 1 star, when I really didn't want to give any at all. My therapists for outpatient therapy were WONDERFUL, and I will always be thankful for the things they taught me to get by.

The doctors, however, MISDIAGNOSED me. Before I was in thr program, I was tested thoroughly for adult ADHD at another facility in my home town. The results said I was severe, and needed medication for it. I ran out of medication shortly after moving last summer, so my mental health diminished because no doctor believed that I had ADHD and refused to reach out to my old psychiatrist for records. I got really sick before until I finally checked in to Highlands Behavioral.

When I first saw the doctor during my therapy, I was told "You are not ADHD. You would be bouncing off the walls. You are bi polar." When I told them that they were unfortunately wrong and that I had records to prove it, they denied that I had any proof and wouldn't bother contacting my old psychiatrist. So, I was put on medication that made me VERY sick and when I told them, I was dismissed and given more medications. I became severely suicidal from these medications, to the point where I found a new doctor. She took me off all of the bi-polar meds and tested me again for ADHD.. where.. SURPRISE!!! I WAS INDEED SEVERE ADHD!!!! Ever since I got on the RIGHT medication, I have never been happier. Your doctors are NOT real doctors, apparently. A REAL doctor listens to their patients and does what needs to be done.

The doctors there are failing their patients. And if you disagree, you are a part of the issue. Shame on your facility for not hiring credible doctors who do research!!!! AND SHAME ON YOUR FACILITY FOR NOT CHECKING BACK ON YOUR PATIENTS!!!!!

I don't care if my therapists were amazing, I would never recommend this place to anyone. There are much better facilities out there. Yes, they are pricier, but I would have much rather paid a lot extra to see a credible doctor who cared about my mental health and not prescribing random meds.
