I presented to CMC back in February when being dizzy for 5 days became worse, and not better. I came in after a shower; wet hair, cold and uncomfortable. Upon arriving, I was seen immediately, I didn t even have to take a seat in the lobby. I was given a private room, with blankets, from the heater!! The nurse was in quickly. First a flu swab, followed by a bunch of other testing. Dr. Giles made the decision to transfer over to RDU, where everyone continued to be equally kind. I was pending a consult with a neurologist and I was unsure that he was going to be covered by my insurance. I was stressed but it was immediately relieved by Valerie Rice who made the time to call my insurance company, not once, but twice to make sure the consult would be covered. She also made sure the ordered MRIs were covered. Going to the hospital can be overwhelming enough, throw in the potential or worrying about getting sent a large bill. Valerie Rice was a doll, and should be honored for her helpfulness and patient satisfaction. I am also very grateful for the fast turn around time and the time management and commitment by Dr. Sarris and RDU Dr. Patel that allowed me to be out of there in 11 hours, and didn t result in me needing to stay the night. I know everyone cannot be this lucky, but I am grateful that I was.
