A grand Dame of civilised accommodation, the old lady has so much glory yet is showing slips in pride of excellence. It's all about details. The valets vary and attention was elsewhere not on snappy quick service. Getting the bags out and on the cart wasn't as cumbersome as they made it. Check-in seemed smooth but slow. The lobby is gorgeous and we had time to look while waiting. I walked down a fairly long hallway to use the restroom and back to find more minutes to wait. 12th floor views we're nice on one side. My side was blocked in 3 sides of buildings and HVAC roof below. So why not equally well appointed rooms on both sides of the hallway? Love the big tub and the glass shower. Although the mildew is growing along the base and needs some pride applied. Delightful appointments and love the soaps et all. Comfy sofa and chairs. Class lamps well situated for good individualized lighting tastes. It has a home and relaxing feel was really nice art pieces included. Bed is very comfortable. Sheets and linens flawless. Pillows helped my traveling neck ache go away. They do not overuse unpleasant smelling cleaners to the point of permeating the atmosphere with chemical irritants. It's nice to have intriguing interest piquing books included. I hardly used the television except to check weather. They could use a modernization for some USB charging electrical outlets. We ate breakfast in The Green Room 2 days. Service was mixed like exceedingly long lag time in getting a coffee cup initially filled - even after asking the hostess for assistance, there was still a delay after she went to ask. and then having to get up to resolve having made a request for a refill that went unfulfilled on the second. The two separate days had bigger issues than they should have been. Food was heavy and very old traditional. The creme brulee french toast was divine. Granola and yogurt was heavy and I couldn't eat much. Crispy ringed eggs, burnt black bits hash browns we're underwhelming. Burnt toast on one side to black, cut in half and cowardly hid inside. Yuck. Any hash house does it better. A nice cloche for presentation would also get the food to the table warmer. My eggs were tepid and the bacon cold but crispy. Those blackened hash browns were not sizzling hot either. Barely warm that quickly faded. You would think with all the heat to burn warm would be included or was it just a beat reheat? In the room, the wood trim is pulling away. An open safety pin stayed on the carpet under the desk for two days and there's a red wine spill stain buy the mini bar. The shower black lines too. Don't let this jewel slip away. Pay attention and step it up!
