We recently brought our 9 year-old Weimaraner to AAVEC on a Sunday because she was acting very ill. We informed the vet that she had been diagnosed with kidney disease about a year ago. The vet performed a physical examination and diagnosed her to have an injury to her neck/back. She gave us pain meds and muscle relaxers and told us to contact our vet if she wasn t showing improvement within 48 hours. She was even worse after 48 hours and I took her to our vet who immediately ran a blood test and determined her kidneys were failing. We are dismayed that the AAVEC vet did not perform a blood test given our dog s history of kidney disease. We lost two precious days of treating her for her condition and she passed away on Wednesday. Also, no one bothered to follow up with a call to see how she was doing a common courtesy performed by most vets.
