The American soldiers cemetery Margraten is located near the Dutch city of Margraten.
We reached it comfortably from Aachen by car through Vaals via the N278.
It is then on the left-hand side and there are sufficient free parking spaces on site. The cemetery is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and entry is free. It is the only American soldiers cemetery on Dutch territory and it was created during the Second World War. 8,301 American soldiers are buried here. These people gave their lives so that today we can live in peace with one another in our German democracy and in Europe.
