I wish more information was available online about all the closed exhibits before visiting. We drove from San Diego during spring break specifically to visit the art museum for a day and more than half the exhibits were closed. The art that was there was interesting and what we expected but the steep price for what we got to experience was disappointing. $50 for entrance to the museum and the $16 parking (which we would have been fine with if it were more than and hour or two visit) we made the most of by trying to extend our visit walking next door to the tar pits and eating outside by the food trucks before we left. Maybe we re spoiled with the Chicago Art Institute or the Milwaukee Art Museum, or maybe the LACMA is better when more than a few exhibits are open.
