The best way to get the museum is to get the city pass. It was the best to skip the long queue. I was overwhelmed when I first got there, the museum is ridiculously huge and there is so much artwork that you cannot simply see all in one day. My advice is you pick the sections of the museum you want to see first and spend at least an hour to explore it. We spent about 5 hours and managed to see the Egyptian, Mesopotamia, french artwork and other stuff. You would need two to three days to explore everything. It is definitely a must see as the museum is mesmerising and just full of so much history.
