This place is a JOKE. My boyfriend and I came in there with the intention of adopting a dog. We fell in love with an Am. Staff, Blue. We went through all the hoops, put in an application, and were one step from adopting this handsome boy. We were told that our application looked good upon a quick glance, but they had to call the apartment we were going to move into (at the end of July) to check if the apartment accepted that breed. They also said he would be put on hold for us if our application was approved.

The next day, we stopped in just to say hi to Blue. We were told that our new apartment we are going to move into did NOT accept Blue s breed and we had a choice that came from the adoption manager herself.... either we don t get Blue due to the restriction, or not move into the new apartment. It was a no-brainer to us! We fell in love with Blue and his chill personality so we chose to not move into the apartment. We let the manager know that later on in this visit.

The next day, my boyfriend stopped in with his two brothers (18 and 13 years old) just so take dogs for a walk and the youngest brother wanted to pet another cute dog, not even to talk about the application! The adoption manager/receptionist stopped all three of them, spoke to my boyfriend directly saying we were denied and were not allowed to see Blue or ANY OTHER DOG for 6 MONTHS!! My boyfriend asked why, the lady then said it was suspicious that we had moved twice in one year, and they didn t want the dog to know more than one place. My boyfriend and I are both in our early twenties, have very good jobs, and, yes, still rent, but that shouldn t matter if we moved twice in one year. We have never been evicted, but our first apartment was getting water damage, so we had to move to the second place we had put down in the application. The lady still didn t believe him, so my boyfriend and his brothers left feeling bad and defeated. He told me what happened that night, and I didn t really believe him... ONLY because I put so much trust into this place and into these PEOPLE.

I personally went there the next day and spoke with a very nice receptionist that I ve never seen before. I then overheard two other receptionists (whom snuck into the back when I got there) and say oh, SHE S here!? After I asked the status of my application. I wanted to see if they would be honest and tell me we were denied, or give us the run around. The nice lady came back and said we are going to call your current landlord on Friday (it was Tuesday at this visit). And I thought that was that....

Friday come along... I work about 2 minutes from this place, so I stopped by to check what was all going on. My landlord informed me that he never got a call from them. When I got there, I spoke with the adoption manager (the ONLY manager around) about the application AGAIN. She told me that she had left a voicemail for my landlord trying to verify that we lived where we said we lived. I verified the phone number, and apparently it was the correct one. Before I left, she said oh, by the way, he s being put on hold for someone else. He was supposed to be put on hold for us! She told my boyfriend and I two different things/stories/statements. I just felt so defeated with this place that I just walked out. We never actually got denied as far as I know. When I got back home (20 minutes later) my landlord had still not gotten a call, so I had him call them. The receptionist on the phone said the adoption manager had left already and won t be back until Monday...

I just feel like this place has ZERO knowledge on what s going on with applications. We have put so much time into this place to adopt a dog. WE GAVE UP OUR NEW APARTMENT FOR THIS DOG! We really had our heart set on Blue... please don t adopt from this place, they are NOT trustworthy, and they will break your heart over and over again. Horrible place. I have never encountered such an unorganized place such as this. All we wanted was to help adopt a dog in need, love it, and give him the best life possible...
