Whilst the hotel is perfectly located, it does not deserve to call herself 5 star. The fittings and fixtures overall are very "tired " and I have not doubt that the hotel should have been redone at least 3 to 5 years ago.My bedroom fittings were full of wear and tear marks and it was evident that superficial repairs were done especially in the bathroom where shoddy tile and waterproofing repairs were a real eye sore! This old lady needs to be modernized and it is unfair to her to be fitted in gear that is at least 15 years old. A depreciation cycle of 10 to 12 years is the limit for hotels before retrofitting- it is clear that the owners are now being shortsighted and are abusing the world famous Shangri- La reputation.
