In the reviews here, I notice that only a few write what they study. I think that is very important because the HTW consists of different campuses offering different study programs. I'm studying Communication Design at the Wilhelminenhof Campus and that's great.
The following points reflect my personal experience.

1. Rooms are new and well equipped. There are many laboratories where equipment can be used e.g. Printing studio, photo studio, analogue photo studio, Mac computer studios (with, for example, graphics tablets) etc.

2. You can be introduced to many devices / for many rooms and use for projects. Also, rooms by the industrial designers and fashion designers (e.g., laser engraver, 3D printer, printing studio, photo studio, sewing studio).

3. There are interesting courses to choose whose topics change every semester. Courses are usually between 15-20 people. (Except courses with basic knowledge transfer in the first two semesters).

4. There is no compulsory attendance.

5. Profs and lecturers are committed, professional, very nice, personally approach everyone and know you. They leave a lot of freedom in creative processes and take each idea for a positive first, but always give very helpful reviews.
Course of the courses is usually like this: The students introduce each week their processes and ideas and then jointly questioned, criticized and it is determined what you work until the next week. That is not mandatory. Who has nothing, does not introduce. If you do not want to come, do not come - but learn nothing.
The courses are after the basic study (first two semesters) mostly exercises instead of readings. Profs and lecturers show and then rather briefly in between things to frequently occurring problems, core questions, etc. instead of the whole course long presentations down to loud. Or they set up the course so that at the beginning of the semester (or at the beginning of each course date) theoretical things are treated more briefly.

6. Students are nice and helpful. Class-like associations arise. You know his people. But you can also just come in contact with people from other semesters.
