With all of their amenities and constantly being labeled as "the best" this hospital is truly awful if you're there more than a few days to see the true operation. My experience is ongoing: it started with my newborn son having a 4 month stay in their NICU and now we go back at least monthly for appointments. First, you will find out very fast their communication skills are terrible. They seem unable to relay information within departments, the hospital and their entire network. If your child is going to be there for any amount of longer term care I can't stress enough that you need someone there with them at all times. If my wife or I couldn't be there we had a family member there at all times except overnight. You have to be there to advocate for your child 100% of the time. We had a new doctor rotate in every week. Every new doctor pushed their own ideas even when it worked against the treatment the previous doctor wanted. The staff will not change a diaper unless it's a care time. My aunt asked for help at one point because our has pooped. The nurse told her she would change it at the next care, which was over an hour away. They put up a webcam we could use when we were not there which showed some horrifying things. Nurses would walk away without putting his oxygen or cpap back on him. We once saw an employee place a weighted bean bag on our 2 month old's chest and face to keep the cpap on and walked away. Any idea you have is immediately dismissed without an explanation as to why. Their staff disagrees with each other constantly and there is too much autonomy with how employees are able to dictate treatment. Doctors would say one thing, an occupational therapist would say another and the occupational therapist would demand treatment went with their suggestion and not the doctor's treatment. They pushed a g tube surgery on us for months until we finally gave consent. Immediately afterward he has vomited multiple times an hour consistently to this day and will still not eat anything by mouth. No staff member has tried to remedy this. I can't stress enough this message: DO NOT let them put a g or a j tube in your child. The in-home equipment company they set us up with did not show us how to use the feeding equipment or oxygen supplies and nobody at the hospital could help us. They do not return phone calls and weekend emergency numbers go to a receptionist with an attitude. If this is the best I absolutely do not want to see the worst.
