The exhibition was presented in the Royal Academy, London, 21 September-3 December 2019.
Following in the footsteps of Ai Weiwei and Kiefer, Antony Gormley occupies the main galleries with a series of works that test the dimensions and light of RA's architecture.
The exhibition explores the vast use that Gormley makes of organic, industrial and elemental materials over the years, including iron, steel, hand-beaten lead, seawater, and clay, to then highlight the first rarely seen works of the years the 70s and 80s, some of which led the artist to use his body as a tool to create art, as well as a selection of his notebooks and drawings.
