The station is the second largest commercial television network in the world, behind only the American American Broadcasting Company (ABC) and one of the largest producers of soap operas. The station reaches 98.56% of Brazilian territory, covering 5,490 municipalities and 99.55% of the total Brazilian population. The company is part of Grupo Globo, one of the largest media conglomerates on the planet.
