Me and a couple friends stayed at Hotel Pennsylvan...

Me and a couple friends stayed at Hotel Pennsylvania for an overnight trip to NYC. We thought it couldn't be as bad as reviews stated, especially since we were only going to be in our room to sleep. We were so wrong. It started when we arrived at the hotel at around 11AM and went to go check in. We waited in line for about 15 minutes only to find out check-in doesn't start until 3PM. Okay, fine. We drop off our bags at the baggage check(only after paying $5 for this service that is usually free) and come back around 9PM to check in. It's only down hill from here. We get to our room only to find that the beds are unmade and look like they have just been slept in. There are hairs and stains all in the bed sheets and the pillows are all over the place. In the bathroom, there are no clean towels, they are all damp and on the floor. There is a lot of trash left in the trashcans from the previous guests. We immediately went back to the front desk and demanded to be moved to a different room. They agreed after we showed them a picture of the other room. This room was a great improvement, or so we thought. It at least looked like it had been cleaned although they forgot the bathroom again as the towels were all used and brown stained and there were bloody tissues in the trashcan. There was also a dead spider on one of the pillows. It was fine for a while until a rodent suddenly scurried out from underneath one of the beds and across the room. Again, we went downstairs to complain because this is absolutely unacceptable. We present the issue to the front desk and they offer to have the room cleaned. We agree and the guy working says he'll be back momentarily. 30 minutes later he returns. At this point we don't want to wait for it to be cleaned because it's 2:30AM, so we ask for a refund on the room which he grants and we sleep in a different room. Apart from this, the hotel is decently located, with a .8 mile walk to times square. You can definitely find better though. DO NOT STAY HERE. I HAVE NEVER EVER HAD A HOTEL EXPERIENCE AS BAD AS THIS. RODENTS ARE A VIOLATION OF NYC HEALTH CODE ARTICLE 151 AND THEY ARE AWARE OF IT. ALSO THE WHOLE HOTEL REEKS OF ALCOHOL AND THERE IS VOMIT ON THE CARPETS IN THE HALLWAYS. WE SAW MORE RATS IN THE HALLWAYS. AVOID HOTEL PENNSYLVANIA AT ANY AND ALL COSTS!!!
