If you do visit Fort Lauderdale or the South Florida area, I recommend this hotel. Its located in the heart of downtown Fort Lauderdale on the historic Las Olas Boulevard. You will have walking access to many fine and upscale dining as well as boutique shopping. There is also a museum. You will be in walking distance to Himmarshee, more of a college kid, late night bar hopping atmosphere to the west. You will probably need to take a shuttle to get to the accessible beach to the east, but it's totally worth it. The iconic Fort Lauderdale Beach boardwalk, captured in many marketing pictures, is best experienced by entering the beach from Las Olas (Translated as The Waves). The hotel itself has everything you could ask for.
