I maintain a membership despite living in New Jersey. My favorite aspect of membership is getting to use the research library when I visit. Getting to read personal accounts of historical figures during the civil war deepens my interest in the subject. My perspective of Civil War history has become much more personal after reading eyewitness accounts, IN THEIR OWN HANDWRITING! The displays in the museum are also wonderful. One can experience the uniqueness of Virginia's history here, especially Richmond's.
