My friends and I purchased day passes ($100 per person) to Breezes Resort Bahamas, since it was an unexpected port on our cruise. Therefore, we were only in the common areas, not in any of the rooms. We heard several people mention how the rooms needed updating, while we were there. One woman complained that she was there 10 years prior, and that the rooms hadn t been updated since. The common areas looked nice and clean, but definitely dated. And in January, it was extremely low season, so many of the bars and such were not open.
We headed straight to the beach, upon arrival, which had nice chairs and beach towels for our use. It was a gorgeous beach! However, we didn t feel like we got our money s worth, for a few reasons.
Firstly, we were not told when or where the lunch buffet would be served. By the time we found it, at 2 p.m., they had just closed the buffet, and removed all of the food. Instead, we had to go to the outdoor grill that had burgers, fries, and salads, which were mediocre at best, as well as decent jerk chicken.
Also, there was only bar that was open, and was absolutely slammed the entire time. So it was always a 15-20 minute wait for a drink, most of which seem to have more sugary syrup than any other ingredient.
Overall, it was a clean resort, and the staff was friendly-ish. We knew nothing about the place going in, except that it was something to do for the day. And we were told it was in the Sandals family of resorts, which have far more restaurants and amenities than this place.
People seemed to be having a good time. It seemed great for college students, and maybe young couples, just starting out. But if you re looking for great food, lots of amenities, and luxury accommodations, you may want to look elsewhere.
