- The old and loud AC unit in our room could not keep up on warm (not hot) days. Hotel staff are aware of this because there was a large standing fan placed beside the AC to try and alleviate the problem, but it had almost no effect. Pretty difficult to sleep in the heat.
- Our non-smoking room smelled of old stale smoke.
- The windows were so dirty it literally obscured the view. Not the kind of thing one would normally complain about but they were really bad.
- The elevators are tiny, very slow, and prone to failure on a daily basis. It's not unusual to wait for several passes of the elevator until there's room for both people and luggage when it's busy - it might take ten minutes - or more - before there's room to squeeze aboard.
- The lights in the pool went out while we were there in the evening. Staff were unable to fix the issue, but instead of closing the pool they advised guests to "be careful". It was very dark, with just the outside streetlights providing any visibility at all - you'd think they would want to avoid potentially serious injury and a significant lawsuit by simply closing it.
- Contrary to what others have said, there is in fact enough underground parking below the hotel on several levels. However, it is expensive at $23/night.
- I added one extra star for the friendly and considerate house keeping staff that cleaned our room.
