I m giving it two stars simply for the scenery and the very nice waitress & bartender at the Mill Room.

When we checked in, a guest that was leaving was speaking to the person at the desk about their air conditioning. I should have taken that as a warning. The AC in our room was so so loud, and not the white noise kind of loud. It was constant, loud rattling. Tried to use towels to buffer the noise to no avail. We were in room 216, which was right above the lobby. The music from the lobby blared all night. We put in for a callback to the front desk at about 11 pm and didn t hear back. The noise was so bad that we ended up leaving and driving back home (one hour away) at midnight. Other than the noise, the room felt more like a $100/night motel than a $300+/night historic inn. It smelled musty, there was hair in the sink and shower and the windowsills had dead bugs. There was also cleaning equipment left strewn about the hallway something I wouldn t expect from a resort that calls itself luxury. The tiles in the shower were cracked and starting to mold.

The Mill Room was okay. The waitress we had was amazing. The ambiance needs work, though. Felt more like an Olive Garden.

This resort needs a huge overhaul of the rooms. They desperately need to be cleaned better. I m glad I live within driving distance and had only booked a night.

Do not recommend.
