I used to enjoy getting my coffee from Future Grounds, but the last 4 or 5 visits have been a disappointment and a waste of money. The last time I went, I ordered an iced americano and was given an iced Macchiato. Not wanting to be difficult , I decided to keep my drink. I took a sip and I didn t taste any espresso, at all - just half and half and sugar. When I kindly asked for more espresso, they tried to tell me that s the way macchiatos are supposed to be made. I persisted and they reluctantly decided to put more espresso in my drink (not without expressing their annoyance and frustration with me). This is where it gets bad for a coffee-enthusiast such as myself. They pulled out a plastic karafe of pre-made espresso from a cooler and poured it into my drink. Espresso drinks are meant to be made with fresh espresso poured over ice.
The handful of times before that and this most recent visit, the americanos were so watered down that I didn t drink them. It was like drinking an iced coffee after all the ice had melted in the drink. I won t be coming back here. It s a shame because there aren t any other drive-through coffee places in Murray. I d rather take my chances with McCafe.
