I strongly recommend that no one use Paraco Gas. The company is poorly run and unresponsive to its customers' needs. Ultimately it is clear that Paraco has an inadequate number of trucks servicing lower Fairfield County, and to add insult to injury the company also dramatically overcharges for its propane.

My dreadful experience with the company stemmed from the storm Sandy. It took 9 days to get a propane delivery from the company. Our delivery was first promised two days PRIOR to the storm Sandy. Two days after the storm, the company assured us that our delivery was on its way, but still no gas. Then after numerous calls to see what the problem was, the company promised a delivery the next day. Unfortunately no gas came. And finally Paraco promised once more that a delivery would come the following day, but no one ever showed up.

Because our gas level was under 15% when we first called Paraco before the storm(we ran out of gas soon after the storm hit), we were on the "emergency/high priority list." Every day that went by, I would call Paraco to try to understand what the problem was. Usually I could only speak to an operator, but I was able once to speak to a manager, who apologized but also had no explanation and admitted that communication with the "dispatch department" was not good. It was easy to see however that being on Paraco's "high priority" list meant absolutely nothing!

As the final chapter in the saga, one week after the storm, I was able to flag down a Hocon gas truck, which partially filled our tank at $3.99 per gallon. I am really grateful to Hocon and will be switching my account to them immediately! However in all fairness though, you should know that Paraco did make it to our house one week after the storm, and it was the icing on the cake! After its miserable service and total lack of communication, Paraco charged me $5.49 per gallon, 37.5% higher than Hocon!
