Lisa Review of Colegrove Management Associate...

I rented a house that was managed by Management Associates for ~3 years. I never had an issue with them, but I knew to always take proactive measures when dealing with a rental company such as photos and videos upon move-in, getting signed copies of rent payment, etc.. I kept EVERYTHING. I am glad I did not have to utilize it however, as I've had bad experiences with previous landlords that ended in court.
I even got my full deposit back, aside from one broken bedroom door that my former room mate had kicked a massive hole in, but they were reasonable about the replacement fee. Upon move-out inspection, the gal that came to look over everything was very patient and forgiving, and if things weren't up to her standard, she gave me every opportunity to correct them in order to get the deposit back.
The only issue that stands out to me, was when I contacted them about my back sliding door needing replaced due to it not locking/being easy to break into, the guy who does their maintenance threw a fit at the manager in the office, in front of me, about being so busy he would not be able to replace it for three months.. it was only when I showed them that I had a restraining order against aforementioned former room mate that he expedited it for my safety.
I feel like since I paid rent in person, and had strong communication with them, that my experience may have been better than the average renter due to building a decent relationship with management/office gals. I also took meticulous care of the rental property as if it were my own, and worked hard to improve it on my own dime (I know not everyone is willing to do this, but you could at least mow your lawn/trim the hedges). I only moved out because my rental property had sold, and they were very gracious during the process (the realtors, on the other hand, were pushy and disrespectful, but that is no fault of Management Associates), otherwise I would most likely still be with them.. however, their push was what I needed to move on and buy my first home, so, yay!
Another "special shout-out" to Angie and Faith-- thank you guys for all your help and care while I was with you!
