Surprised at the experience I had with SCRAPS after many years of otherwise excellent service and cooperation. I was interested in adopting a puppy, and attempted to follow their procedures for making an appointment, as you cannot get into the building without one.

You will wait a while on the phone before you can speak with someone, a volunteer who is likely to transfer you to another number that will not answer and end up forcing you to leave a voicemail. Well, since they are understaffed and likely busy you won't be getting a call back. Emails likely won't receive a reply either. No one volunteer seems to know anything about another part of the facility, and won't help you.

I ended up having to feign having an appointment just to keep from being turned away at the door for the third time. Once you get in however, things are totally fine. I was very pleased with Kevin in the animal behavior team for making the process possible at all and having the communication skills to actually facilitate adopting an animal.

I can understand being understaffed and busy, but unfortunately it seems you may need to bypass the current broken system of communication to get anywhere at all.
