We drive out to eat lunch at the lodge. The main restaurant we intended to visit no longer exists. The steakhouse was closed all afternoon fit a private function forcing us to eat at the limited menu lounge. The food was lovely so it all worked out in the end. I had steak frites which was very well prepared although I had skipped breakfast so could have used a larger portion. We were not offered dessert but I think our lead member may have asked for the check when I want listening. None of my gripes are the lodge's fault. We should have called ahead. The natural scenery is beautiful. The grounds must be exceptional in the summer when the pond is filled and fountain is running. We'll have to return after spring.
