Heard great things about stockeld Park so was excited to team our visit with a meeting with santa. We booked santa for as soon as we arrived and enthusiastically made our way down to Santas grotto. The elf that greeted us gave my son a coin and sprinkled it with magic. I thought the magic would grow from there, how wrong I was. We got taken to meet santa who I can only describe as a bored looking man who seemed to dislike children. He asked my 2 year old his name and age but seemed frustrated when he didn't get an answer straight away. He seemed very uninterested in any answer my son gave him and it felt very much like it was just all about taking your money and getting you out. The present, which the child has to pick out of a basket for themself, is the same cuddly toy they all get so you see tons of them walking around the park and takes away any magic that is left.
Thankfully the park itself is fantastic. The maze is fun to find you way around and the enchanted forest is wonderful especially at dusk/evening time when it's all lit up. The food is tasty enough but I would recommend saving your money on the watery disgusting hot chocolate. The children's sandwich box meal was good value though. All in all I would go back to the park but would give Santas grotto a miss.
