The Hilton Hotel and Suites are at the heart of the tourist section of Niagara Falls. It's a one mile walk from the lobby down to the Falls. There's a walkway that connects directly to the casino next door. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfy, and the staff is courteous and helpful. The on-site restaurants are of good quality as well.

But a few things deterred me from giving a higher rating. I was billed for several miscellaneous fees at checkout that appeared to be related to tourism. I understand they may not have a choice in the matter, but a little advanced warning on the website or during booking would have been appreciated. It was twenty dollars for self-parking which is waived at a lot of other hotels when you're a guest. And, Wi-Fi is not a free amenity which I find shocking in this day and age.

The room walls were on the thin side and the chatter from the hallway and the sound of doors opening and closing streamed in throughout the night. My Jacuzzi was not working properly the first time I went to turn it on, but I called down to the front desk and a maintenance worker came up and replaced the defective components within the hour.

The Brasa Brazlian Steakhouse and continental breakfast served at the Macaroni Grill every morning had some nice menu options and variety along with a friendly wait staff. But, the Myst lounge was a big letdown as there are only a couple of places to get a decent view of the Falls due to the design of the lounge, and needless to say it was impossible to get a seat there.

The outside of the building and pool and exercise facility are currently undergoing renovations and are blocked off, but I can't judge them too harshly since understandably this happens from time to time and I was warned during booking. So while the quality, facilities and service were good or satisfactory overall, I don't feel like that the Hilton Hotel and Suites provided a good enough value to justify the higher price tag. Next time I m in the region, I ll look to stay at a smaller or slightly out of the way hotel or resort.
