With so much to see in Washington, I suspect that this location is often overlooked. It would be a real shame. This gallery has mastered the display of portraits such that it never felt crowded, viewing seemed intimate and private. After touring the exhibits, take some time to enjoy the atrium, a breath of fresh air in a very open setting.
