I was never late with rent at my location for over 5 years and had a pretty decent relationship with huntex. Yet when it came time to move, they turned on me so quickly. I reported water damage in a back bathroom to them as soon as I found it and they said they'd look at it after I was moved out (the house had SEVERAL water/moisture issues over the years. One such leak was so bad the city had to come out and fix it). Gave them the key and the forwarding address like I was supposed to, everything paid in full, and a month later they sent me a bill for the water damage claiming I never reported it as well as some other things that I actually did correct them on. We went back and forth in email disputing their claim in which they even admitted that I did report it to them while under lease. In the end, they never responded to me any further and reported me to a debt collector before I was even 180 days delinquent on the "debt" and now I have to go through it all again with a debt collector, proving to them that huntex is in the wrong based on the emails.

My advice: keep all communications in strictly email and dog them over every little thing, inside and out because they sure won't hesitate to treat you like dirt once they're not getting your money.

Don't bother commenting on this review either, Huntex. We're clearly past "apologies" and talking.
